The Tug Valley Bass Anglers was formed in 1990 in the Belfry and Big Creek areas, which are located around the Tug River in the Tug Valley area. Thus the name the Tug Valley Bass Anglers. We are a Pikeville and John's Creek based club that has members from all over Eastern Kentucky and West Virginia. The Tug Valley Bass Anglers is a small organization of bass fishing enthusiasts who have come together to fish tournaments and have fun. The Tug Valley Bass Anglers meet once every month, twelve months of the year with the meetings being held regularly on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 pm. The meetings are held at Don's Street Machine in South Williamson, Ky. The Tug Valley Bass Anglers hold nine tournaments a year with the first being in March and the last in November. There will be (7) one day-day tournaments, (1) night tournament and (1) two day tournament which is the "Club Classic". The (8) qualifying tournaments are local and on Sunday to meet the working man's schedule. Click here for schedule. Fees for the tournaments are $31.00 for one day events and $41.00 for the Club Classic. Each tournament pays the top three places. Big fish is included in the entry fee at $5.00 per person. Anglers seeking membership into the Tug Valley Bass Anglers must attend a monthly club meeting. If accepted you are required to pay $35.00 annual club dues by the next club function. We have some exciting changes for 2009. 1. It will be much easier to qualify for the classic and there is no limit on the number that can qualify. If you fish (7) of the (8) qualifying tournaments your in. If you accumulate 50 points and fish (5) of the (8) tournaments your in. That's it. 2. Only one away tournament instead of two. All (8) qualifying tournaments are eastern KY lakes or rivers. 3. No meeting points. No open tournament points. 4. A new meeting place. We will be meeting at Don's Street Machine in South Williamson, Ky. 5. Along with these changes has came a renewed excitement. We are going to try to make every meeting informative and fun. We are going to have flipping contests, talk about fishing patterns, test line on a break machine, who knows but we are going to try to make the meeting something people look forward to. 6. Some things are in the works and if they pan out our members will have some exclusive benefits. Also, the payout for the Classic could be something really worth fishing for. |
