On July 18th the Tug Valley Bass Anglers held its fifth and only night tournament of the 2009 season on Paintsville Lake.

Paintsville is the deepest and clearest lake in the eastern Ky area. Lined with rock cliffs and an abundance of standing timber the yearly night tournament on this lake is always good fishing. The water level was at normal summer pool and very clear.

Weather for the tournament was good with mostly clear skies and night time temperatures in the low 50's.

This was typical night time fishing. Most of the fish were fairly shallow, ten foot or less and not far from the bank. The main pattern for this tournament was to fish jigs or soft plastic craws on the steeper main lake deep banks with wood cover.

The top finishers are as follows.

1st-- Brad May --- (5 fish) 7.40 lbs. Big fish 4.31 lbs.

2nd--Kevin Runyon --- (5 fish) 6.99 lbs.

3rd-- MO --- (5 fish) 3.97 lbs.

4th--Lynn Fields --- (5 fish) 3.08 lbs.

5th--Justin Cook --- (4 fish) 1.84 lbs.

5th--POP --- (2 fish) 1.84 lbs.

7th--Keith Pacific --- (4 fish) 1.68 lbs.

8th--Chris Taylor--- (3 fish) 1.63 lbs.

9th--Brandon Staten --- (2 fish) 1.04 lbs.

10th--James Riley--- (2 fish) .72 lbs.
