Welcome to D.Taylor Knives ! I forge mostly High-Carbon steels like O-1, W-2, L-6, 10-95, as well as some alloys like 5160 and D2. I prefer to use these steels for their great edge-holding ability and durability. I can, however, on demand use other steels upon the customer's request, i.e damascus, stainless. All my knives are forged, shaped and heat-treated by me...I do not 'farm' any work out. I use mostly natural materials for my handles for their beauty, such as Stag, buffalo horn, Sheep horn, Walnut, Oak, Cherry, Iron Wood, Ash. I can also use Ivory, mother of pearl, various precious stones, and other hard woods as well as exotics.
